  • Descrição: An individual, fully dressed and wearing a straw boater, tips his hat and dives off a platform into the water, to which he promptly returns in reverse motion, only wearing a swimsuit. After performing and returning from a number of dives and pirouettes in a variety of positions, he comes back from his final dive dressed, once again, as he was at the beginning. Chomón made this 'cinema of attractions' short designed, specifically, to emphasise the merits of visual effects over and above the narrative. Using visual trickery based on reversing the logical progression of movement, which had already been done by the Lumière Brothers, Chomón created a systematic study of this visual effect to astound the audience.
